Qualifications/Courses attended:

undergraduate Podiatry degree, Use of lasers in podiatry, Electro-surgery in Podiatry, Basic Life support, Advanced Life support, Anaphylaxis in clinical practice, Diabetes Masterclass, Sports Injuries and their treatment, Foot Mobilisation, Dermatology in Podiatry, Biomechanics - basics and advanced (Langer), Pharmacology update for Podiatrists (Prescription only Medicines), AO Fixation Course,  Rearfoot Cadaveric Surgery (Warwick Conference) currently studying for an MSc in Podiatric Surgery (successfully completed all of the theory modules).


Where and when did you qualify?

Durham School of Podiatric Medicine, 1993.

University of Brighton School of Health Professions 2009-2012 (PG Cert, PG Dip and MSc.)


Where do you work?

Full-time in the practice - part-time clinically, the rest of the week as the MD and Chairman. I am also studying part-time (Masters degree) to become a Podiatric Surgeon through the University of Brighton and work one day a week at Newham University Hospital as a House Officer in the Podiatric Surgery Unit (outpatients and day case Podiatric Surgery). I am involved in research and currently am designing and leading a study to investigate the differences between ultrasound guided local anaesthtetic injections vs non-guided injections for tibial nerve blocks. I am also a Mentor for the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists mentoring Podiatrists who have been out of clinical practice for more than 3 years and who wish to regain their professional registration (clinical and academic mentoring).


What are your career interests?

Podiatric surgery, Sports Podiatry and Biomechanics including Video Gait Analysis, general podiatry practice, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound, continual professional development, research.


What do you like best about the practice?

The people - patients and staff! It’s a challenge every week, sometimes frustrating but never boring.


When did you join the practice?

At the start - 13 years ago!


What do you like doing in your spare time?

I like to travel, I like sailing yachts, snowboarding and socialising with friends.
